SCHOOL HISTORY

Born in 2005 Mwenyeheri owes its foundation to Fr. Geraldo who through himself into the work of establishing Mwenyeheri with his accustomed vigour. In 2006 Mwenyeheri accessed full accreditation from the Ministry of Education under the registration No. of S.3566 and examination No. S3482. Father Geraldo’s reign lasted for six years. Since then different leaders have taken over and worked hard to maintain the legacy of Mwenyeheri School. Currently the school, is managed by Fr Deus Rugemalira and his supporting staff led by Sr. Agatha Mtawa (Head Mistress). So far there has been rapid expansion in the number of students, and consequently, in the buildings needed to house them. Major refurbishment projects continue to improve the school’s facilities. The vibrant, Catholic culture within Mwenyeheri contributes to the development of young men and women, providing an authentic Catholic education in partnership with staff, parents, families and the wider community. This education aims to promote spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional, physical, cultural and social aspects of life through the provision of a wide variety of faith experiences, academic, sporting and entrepreneurship opportunities. With this aim, Mwenyeheri identifies the strengths and talents of each student by engaging them in different activities. The school conducts vigorous training in which students earn entrepreneur skills for example, students are trained to manufacture soap, shoe polish, sanitizer and the like. They are also offered with garden and computer skills. Students also learn music dance and drama thus built to live a useful, meaningful and successful life.
